UNIT: Bean 5 - Medical Telemetry/IMC (140.823066) 43 beds

RATIOS:

• Med-Surg Days: 1:4-5
• Med-Surg Nights: 1:5-6
• IMC (Day/Night): 1:3

REQUIREMENTS:

• ME RN License
• 1-2 years minimum experience
• BLS required
• Ventilator experience (for IMC RNs) - REQUIRED
• Tracheostomy experience - REQUIRED
• Telemetry strip reading/interpretation - REQUIRED

PATIENT POPULATION: Respiratory, Medical Telemetry, some surgical, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, failure to thrive, respiratory failure, acute on chronic medical conditions

EQUIPMENT: IMC: Ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP Med-Surg/Tele: CPAP, nasal cannula, non-rebreather, epidural pumps, IV pumps, specialty beds, PCA pumps, VAC dressings, trach care/maintenance

FLOAT REQUIREMENTS: Yes

• IMC RNs: May float to another IMC level unit within MMC or to Med-Surg as needed
• Med-Surg RNs: May float to another Med-Surg unit with similar level of care
• Float based on unit need, skill, and nursing unit requirements

CHARTING: Epic

SCHEDULING:

• Day and night shifts available
• Weekend hours: 36 (unless otherwise noted)
• No call requirements
