Labor & Delivery RN – LDRP | Clinical Interview

Position Highlights

• 60-mile radius rule (Driver's License required with submission)
• Must be in-state during orientation week, even if first-day modules are remote

Schedule

• Self-scheduling
• Weekend requirement: 3 full weekends every 6 weeks
• Holiday requirement: 1 summer holiday and 1 winter holiday
• Call: 3 call shifts every 6 weeks
• Floating is rare but may occur

Required Qualifications

• Labor & Delivery experience
• BLS
• ACLS
• NRP
• STABLE

Unit Information

• 8-bed LDRP unit
• 1 C-section OR
• Approximately 35 deliveries per month
• Follows AWHONN staffing guidelines

Patient Population

• Low-risk obstetric patients
• Gestational age 36 weeks and above

Clinical Skills

• Labor and delivery nursing
• Fetal monitoring interpretation
• Oxytocin titration
• Magnesium sulfate administration (occasional)
• Ability to independently interpret fetal monitoring strips

Equipment & Support

• EFM System: OBIX
• Monitors: Philips
• One OB Tech per shift
• Charge RN carries a patient assignment
• CPAP commonly used for newborns; ventilator available for rare transfers
• Anesthesia available when epidurals are in use

Orientation & Dress Code

• 2 orientation shifts
• Blue scrubs provided
