Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Location: Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Work in a Joint Commission Accredited community hospital and regional referral center with 171 beds.
• Emergency Department unit with 24 beds and a patient ratio of 1:4.
• Patient population includes geriatric, adult, and some pediatric patients with mixed medical conditions and varying acuity.
• Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM, 48 guaranteed hours per week.
• May be required to float within a 25-mile radius of the facility.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona.
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year.
• Certifications required:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Experience in trauma care.

Skills and Experience

• Must have skills/experience in trauma care and STEMI (ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction) management.
• Preferred: 2+ years of ED experience.
• Personality fit: approachable, team-oriented, proactive, and uses downtime productively.

Equipment and Technology

• Ultrasound, Bellmont Transfuser, Baxter IV Pumps, Glidescope, BD IV Products.
• Every room equipped with GE monitors.
• Electronic Health Record system: MedHost EDIS.

Additional Information

• Scrub color: Black.
• Local candidates must be 60 miles or more away to qualify as travel.
• Orientation is weekly.
• Close to outdoor recreation including fishing, golfing, swimming, hiking, and local dining options.
• Proximity to major cities: Las Vegas (2.5 hours), Phoenix (3.25 hours), Grand Canyon (3.5 hours), Los Angeles/San Diego (5 hours).
