UNIT: CVOR - Heart Tower (Cost Center 70312) 6 Operating Rooms

REQUIREMENTS - EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • NC RN License
  • BLS Certification
  • Extensive CVOR RN Circulator experience MANDATORY
  • Must be proficient in procedures listed below

PROCEDURES (Must Have Circulator Experience): CABG, Valve Replacement, VAD Insertions, TAVR, VATS, Lobectomy, Pacemaker/AICD Insertions, Septal Myectomy, Ross Procedure, EVH, IABP Insertions, Femoral Cannulation, Circulatory Arrest

 

PREFERRED (Not Required):

  • Scrub/First Assist experience and proficiency

STAFFING:

  • Patient Ratios: 1 scrub + 1 circulator per case (Pump cases also require first assist/heart holder - RN or CST)
  • Unit Support: 1 unit secretary, 1 charge nurse, 1 PCA, 1 core tech

EQUIPMENT: Stryker

 

CHARTING: Cerner

 

SCHEDULING:

  • On-call shifts assigned and rotated among staff
  • May float if needed (infrequent)

DRESS CODE:

  • Hospital-provided scrubs
  • Must follow hospital surgical attire policy

ADDITIONAL INFO:

  • Not a training facility - cases are very efficient
  • No interview required
  • Scrubs provided by hospital

ASHEVILLE AREA: Blue Ridge Mountains, vibrant arts scene, breweries, outdoor recreation, historic Biltmore Estate
