Cardiac Sonographer

About Facility:
50 Bed Community Hospital
22 ED Beds
Department Information:
Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years
Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
Cardiac Diagnostics, advanced – TTE, TEE, Stress Echo, Dobutamine Stress Echo studies,
Chemotherapy Evaluations
Transplant Evaluations
Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
ACLS (preferred)
ACLS (preferred)
ACLS (preferred)
National certification not required
RN: BLS; ACLS (required)
Cardiac Sonographer: BLS; RCS, RDCS, Client (Advanced Cardiac Sonographer through CCI) – only (1) of these is required
Cardiac Tech: BLS; CCT (Certified Cardiac Tech through CCI) preferred
Exercise Physiologist (EP) Tech: BLS
Skills required:
TTE/Stress Echo
Required:
TTE complete with color and doppler
Ultrasound Enhancement Agents (UEA – Definity/Optison)
Advanced imaging in accordance with ASE/IAC Echo including, but not limited to:
LV Global Strain
3D
HOCM
Agitated Saline Contrast studies
Preferred: Stress echo and Dobutamine Stress echo studies
Support within the Department:
Dedicated Cardiac Ultrasound Educator and Chief Sonographer
Technology/Equipment:
EMR: EPIC
Department specific Equipment:
Philips: echo
Client: echo
CASE: stress
Philips ISCV: reporting
