TRAVEL RN - ICU FLOAT POOL | Portland, ME
Maine Medical Center - Bramhall Campus - MaineHealth 22 Bramhall St, Portland, ME 04102 5/1/26 - 10/29/26 (182 days/26 weeks) Nights: 7p-7:30a | 36hrs/wk guaranteed
PREFERRED: 26 weeks, 48hrs/week (will accept 13 weeks, 36hrs/week)
UNIT: ICU Float Pool (140.20.140203) Float to: SICU, MICU, Neuro ICU, CICU, CTICU
CRITICAL STAFFING NEED: CICU experiencing significant staffing reduction (May-August 2026) due to departures and LOAs. Maintaining ability to staff beds is essential for patient safety, especially for STEMI patients and cardiac ICU transfers.
REQUIREMENTS:
- ME RN License
- 3+ years ICU experience REQUIRED
- BLS required
- Must have experience with sedated, intubated patients and pressors
PATIENT POPULATION: Basic ICU patients across multiple units:
- Sedated, intubated patients
- Vasoactive drips/pressors
- Standard ICU care
- Will NOT care for high complexity patients (e.g., CRRT)
RATIOS:
- ICU: 1:2 (may be 1:3)
- IMC: 1:3 (if floated to IMC)
FLOAT REQUIREMENTS:
- Float based on healthcare professional experience
- Primary units: Neuro ICU, Surgical/Trauma ICU, Cardiac ICU, CTICU
- May float to any IMC in organization
- Must be flexible with assignments
- May take multiple different assignments in same shift if needed
CHARTING: Epic
SCHEDULING:
- 75% weekends REQUIRED
- No call requirements
- Day and night shifts available
