Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RN – Travel Contract

Position Highlights

Strict 75-mile radius rule
- Traveler must live 75+ miles from the hospital based on the address on their driver's license.
- Driver's license address must be included in the submission email before the candidate can be considered.
Minimum 1 year of RN experience
Minimum 1 prior travel assignment

Required Certifications

AHA BLS
AHA NIHSS

Unit Overview

44-bed Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit
Approximately 40 staff members
Telemetry patients are monitored remotely on a separate unit

Patient Ratios

Days: 1:5 (occasionally 1:6)
Nights: 1:5 (occasionally 1:6)

Schedule

12-hour shifts: 6:45 AM–7:15 PM or 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
Every other weekend
Holidays as needed

EMR

Meditech (preferred but not required)

Support Staff

CNA support available
Typical CNA ratio 1:8–1:10
CNAs also assist as patient sitters

Floating

Required to float to:
- Acute Care units
- Cardiac units (medical patients)
- Emergency Department for admitted patient holds

Orientation

1 week general orientation (includes EMR training)
2 days unit-specific orientation

Dress Code

Caribbean Blue scrubs

Ideal Candidate

Travel RN with Med-Surg/Telemetry experience who is flexible with floating, comfortable caring for telemetry patients, and able to work in a busy acute care environment with strong teamwork and adaptability.
