Travel Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical (Med Surg)

 

Location: Lander, WY

Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

 

Ready for your next travel nursing adventure? We're seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse for a 13-week night shift assignment in beautiful Lander, Wyoming. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive healthcare team while providing compassionate, high-quality care to a diverse patient population.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult medical and surgical patients.
  • Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
  • Administer medications and IV therapies while monitoring for adverse reactions.
  • Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, and cardiac or electronic monitoring equipment as appropriate.
  • Provide care for pre-operative and post-operative patients.
  • Perform nursing procedures including IV starts, catheter insertions, wound care, and dressing changes.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while assisting physicians as needed.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, procedures, discharge planning, and post-hospital care.
  • Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient outcomes in the electronic medical record.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, effective patient care.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and patient safety initiatives.

 

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience required.
  • Previous acute care hospital experience required.
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
