Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Stepdown Cardiac / ED Surge
Location: Manchester, NH
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: 08/10/2026
Shift: Nights | 3x12 (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Schedule: Every Other Weekend Required
First-Time Travelers: Accepted with EPIC experience and 2+ years of experience
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Stepdown Cardiac RN to work in an ED Surge Unit, caring for inpatient and CICU-level hold patients within the Emergency Department. This fast-paced cardiac intermediate care setting requires a strong recent PCU/Stepdown background and advanced cardiac monitoring skills.
Requirements
- Active RN License
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Strong PCU/Stepdown experience within the last year
- EPIC experience required for first-time travelers
- ACLS and BLS required
- EKG Test upon arrival
- Previous Charge Nurse experience preferred
Required Clinical Skills
- Cardiac telemetry monitoring
- Dysrhythmia management
- Management and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips:
- Heparin
- Cardizem
- Amiodarone
- Nitroglycerin
- Dopamine
- Dobutamine
- Lasix
- Integrilin
- Labetalol
- BiPAP/CPAP management
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
- Blood product administration
- Peripheral IV management
- Rapid Response/Code Team utilization
Patient Population
Common diagnoses include:
- Chest Pain
- Syncope
- Heart Failure
- Sepsis
- COPD
- Pneumonia
- GI Bleed
- Overdose
- Post Cardiac Cath/Stent Patients
- ICD/Pacemaker Insertions
- Cardioversions
- Medical, Surgical, Trauma, Oncology, and Orthopedic overflow patients

Additional Information
- One RTO request permitted
- No Thanksgiving RTO accepted
- Floating to similar units may be required
- Travelers will not be assigned patients outside their competency level
- COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
