Travel Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) – Essentia Health
Facility: Essentia Health
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: 4x10-Hour Day Shifts (40 Hours/Week)
Shift Hours: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Call Requirement: 1 call day per week and rotating weekend call every 5–6 weekends
Position Overview
Essentia Health is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) to support surgical procedures in a fast-paced operating room environment. The ideal candidate must be comfortable both assisting surgeons during procedures and managing the back table when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a surgical first assistant during procedures.
- Prepare and manage the sterile back table.
- Maintain strict sterile technique and patient safety standards.
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and OR staff to ensure efficient surgical workflows.
- Participate in scheduled call coverage, including weekends.
Requirements
- NBSTSA Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in the specialty.
- Current BLS Certification required.
- Ability to independently back-table cases and assist in surgery.
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application.
