Job Title: Pharmacist I (Contract) – Northern Cheyenne Service Unit
Location: Northern Cheyenne Service Unit
Client: Emergency Staffing Service (Chenega)

Employment Type: Contract
Contract Duration: August 24, 2026 – November 28, 2026
Schedule: 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week (40 hours/week)

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacist I to join the healthcare team at the Northern Cheyenne Service Unit through the Emergency Staffing Service. The selected candidate will provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care, ensure safe and effective medication management, and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
- Review medication orders for appropriateness, dosage accuracy, drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications.
- Counsel patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, storage requirements, and adherence.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy.
- Monitor patient medication regimens and recommend therapeutic alternatives when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in medication reconciliation and clinical pharmacy services.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, inventory control, and security of pharmaceuticals, including controlled substances.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with accreditation, quality assurance, and patient safety initiatives.
- Respond to medication-related inquiries from patients and healthcare providers.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
- Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in any U.S. state or territory.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Previous hospital, outpatient, ambulatory care, or clinical pharmacy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, medication safety, and clinical therapeutics.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in federal healthcare facilities, Indian Health Service (IHS), VA, or tribal health systems.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) and pharmacy information systems.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (if required by facility).
