Description

We're seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN to join a high-volume, fast-paced Birthing Care Unit. This is an excellent opportunity for confident L&D nurses who thrive in a busy environment and have experience with large delivery volumes.

 

Position Highlights

  • Night Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
  • Contract Length: 13–26 Weeks
  • Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours/week
  • No Call Required
  • Every Other Weekend Required
  • Floating: Required within Women's Services (High-Risk OB/Maternity as needed)
  • First-Time Travelers Welcome (Must have strong high-volume L&D experience)

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience (3+ years preferred)
  • Experience in a facility with 300+ births per month (Required)
  • Comfortable managing a fast-paced, high-acuity unit
  • Experience with double labor assignments
  • OR Circulating experience for C-sections strongly preferred

Unit Information

  • Patient Ratio: 2:1
  • Approximately 20 births every 24 hours
  • 400–600 births per month
  • 30–40 admissions daily
  • 40 patient visits per day
  • 20 labor rooms

This unit provides care for:

  • Intrapartum patients
  • High-risk antepartum and postpartum patients
  • Obstetrical triage
  • Scheduled and emergency C-sections
  • Rescue cervical cerclage procedures

Charting & Equipment

  • Epic
  • Pyxis
  • SBAR

Orientation

  • 24 hours
  • Hospital-provided blue scrubs
