Travel Registered Nurse – Neuro Med Surg / Telemetry (Days)

Shift: Days | 3x12s
Contract: 13 Weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours/week

Join a dedicated Neuro Med Surg/Telemetry team caring for patients with neurological and medical conditions in a collaborative, traveler-friendly environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to Neuro Med Surg and Telemetry patients.
• Care for patients with CVAs, elective spine surgeries, cerebral angiograms, and general medical diagnoses.
• Perform detailed neurological assessments, dysphagia screenings, and NIH Stroke Scale evaluations.
• Manage heparin infusions, blood and blood product administration, NG tubes, Foley catheters, venipuncture, blood cultures, and indwelling drains.
• Interpret telemetry rhythms and monitor stable IV infusions.
• Float to the Medical Surgical unit as needed within your skill set.

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN License
• AHA BLS Certification
• AHA ACLS Certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg/Telemetry experience
• Neuro nursing experience required
• At least 1 previous travel assignment
• Recent Epic EMR experience

Assignment Highlights

• 22-bed Neuro Med Surg/Telemetry unit
• 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Charge nurse carries a patient assignment
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation
• Navy blue scrubs
• Epic EMR

Ideal Candidate

We're looking for a resilient, team-oriented RN with excellent critical thinking skills who is comfortable caring for both neurological and medical overflow patients in a fast-paced acute care setting.
