Description

Travel Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Variable Shifts)

Location: Wausau, WI
Shift: 12-hour Variable Shifts (Days/Evenings)
Contract: 13 Weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week

Join a fast-paced Level II Trauma Center providing emergency care to a diverse patient population. This assignment is ideal for experienced ER travel nurses who thrive in high-acuity environments and are confident working independently.

Responsibilities

Deliver emergency nursing care for trauma, cardiac, stroke, neurological, pediatric, respiratory, and geriatric patients.
Perform rapid assessments, prioritize care, and respond to critical emergencies.
Draw labs, administer medications, perform nebulizer treatments, and collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
Utilize Epic EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing system.
Float to nearby facilities within your skill set when needed.

Requirements

Active Wisconsin RN License
BLS (AHA or ARC)
ACLS (AHA or ARC)
PALS (AHA or ARC)
TNCC
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience
3–6 months of prior travel nursing experience required
Level II Trauma Center experience required
Recent Epic experience required

Assignment Highlights

18-bed, Level II Trauma Center
Stroke-certified Emergency Department
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3–4
Every other weekend and every other holiday
On-call requirement: 12 hours every 6 weeks (30-minute response time)
Any scrub color permitted
36 hours of low census eligibility with call-back pay if activated
