Travel Registered Nurse – Neuro ICU (Nights)

Location: Wausau, WI
Shift: Nights | 3x12s (7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
Contract: 13 Weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week

Join a specialized Neuro ICU caring for critically ill neurological patients in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This assignment is ideal for experienced ICU nurses with strong neurological assessment skills who thrive in high-acuity critical care settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for Neuro ICU patients, including stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), head injury, and neurosurgical cases.
• Perform detailed neurological assessments and monitor changes in patient condition.
• Assist with bedside ICU procedures, including line placement, intubation, bolt placement, and drain management.
• Care for patients with external ventricular drains (EVDs) and intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring.
• Float between Neuro ICU, Medical Surgical ICU, and other critical care units within your scope of practice.

Requirements

• Active Wisconsin RN License
• BLS (AHA or ARC)
• ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
• Neuro ICU or Medical Surgical ICU background required
• Strong neurological assessment skills
• Experience with EVDs and ICP monitoring required
• Recent Epic EMR experience required
• Previous travel assignment preferred
