Description

Travel Registered Nurse – Cardiac Telemetry / Stepdown

Location: Wausau, WI
Shift: Days | 3x12s (7:00 AM–7:30 PM)
Contract: 13 Weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week

Join a fast-paced Cardiac Telemetry/Stepdown unit caring for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions and post-operative cardiac procedures. This assignment is ideal for experienced cardiac nurses who excel in high-acuity environments.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care for cardiac telemetry and stepdown patients.
Monitor cardiac rhythms, perform detailed assessments, and administer cardiac medications and titratable drips.
Care for post-CABG, valve replacement, vascular surgery, arrhythmia, CHF, post-cardiac catheterization, pacemaker, ICD, ablation, acute MI, and medical-surgical overflow patients.
Float to inpatient units within your scope of practice as needed.

Requirements

Active Wisconsin RN License
BLS (AHA or ARC)
ACLS (AHA or ARC)
Minimum 2 years of IMC, PCU, or Telemetry experience
Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Stepdown, Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac ICU experience
Experience managing Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips required
At least one completed travel assignment
Minimum 1 year of recent Epic EMR experience
Must successfully pass an EKG exam during the first week of the assignment

Assignment Highlights

44-bed Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit
Day shift (7:00 AM–7:30 PM)
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
Every other weekend and holiday
Epic EMR
Any scrub color permitted
Eligible for up to 36 hours of low census during the contract
