Description

Job Title: (RN) – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Location: Hershey, PA 17033

Start Date: August 11, 2026

Duration: 13 Weeks (Through November 14, 2026)

Shift: Nights – 3 × 12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Hours: 36 Hours per Week

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced PICU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized, compassionate care to critically ill pediatric patients in a fast-paced Level I Trauma environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong critical care skills, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents in the PICU.
  • Perform thorough patient assessments and continuously monitor vital signs and clinical status.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments.
  • Safely titrate vasoactive medications and evaluate patient response.
  • Operate and monitor advanced critical care equipment, including ventilators and infusion pumps.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and changes in patient condition.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record (EMR) documentation.
  • Follow hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, and patient safety standards.

Requirements

  • Active RN PA License
  • BLS Certification
  • PALS Certification
  • Minimum 2 years of PICU experience
  • 3 years of Level I Trauma PICU experience preferred
  • RN Level IV experience
  • Experience titrating vasoactive medications
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
