Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg | Travel Contract
Location: Albany, GA - 31701
Specialty: Med Surg (Acute Care)
Contract Length: 17 Weeks with possible extension
Start Date: ASAP
Shift: Days/Nights (both are available)
Schedule: 4x12s/3x12s
Hours/week: 36 hrs/week or 48 hrs/week
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Unit: Acute Care 1
Charting System: MEDITECH
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg for a travel assignment in Albany, GA. The ideal candidate has recent experience in a high-acuity acute care hospital, is comfortable managing a fast-paced patient load, and has completed at least one previous travel assignment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to Med Surg patients.
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions using MEDITECH.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
- Float to Acute Care, Cardiac, or ED Holds as needed.

- Post-Surgical Overflow
- Amputations
- Debridement
- Wound Care
- DVT
- Alcohol Withdrawal (ETOH)
- Behavioral Health Patients
Requirements
- Active RN License
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg experience
- At least 1 completed travel assignment
- Experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced acute care hospital
- Comfortable with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
- BLS (AHA) – Required
- NIHSS – Required
- ACLS Preferred
