Positions Available: 10 Full-Time Pharmacy Technicians
Schedule: Full-Time | Variable 8-hour shifts between 6:00 AM – 11:00 PM PST | Weekend and holiday coverage as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Process new prescription orders, refills, and medication renewals, including controlled substances, in accordance with VA policies.
• Answer inbound calls from Veterans, providers, caregivers, and healthcare staff regarding prescription-related inquiries.
• Verify patient identity using two approved patient identifiers before providing information or processing requests.
• Accurately document all patient interactions in the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS).
• Escalate clinical or professional-scope questions to a licensed pharmacist when appropriate.
• Resolve Veteran concerns during the initial contact whenever possible while maintaining excellent customer service.
• Maintain compliance with national performance metrics and First Contact Resolution (FCR) goals.
• Utilize approved phone scripts and maintain professional call center etiquette.
• Ensure confidentiality and protect patient information in accordance with HIPAA and VA privacy regulations.
• Maintain active certification and required electronic health record (EHR) access for all assigned VISN 22 facilities.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, providers, and healthcare teams to ensure timely prescription processing and continuity of care.
• Participate in mandatory VA training and maintain competency requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Active PTCB (CPhT) or NHA (ExCPT) Pharmacy Technician certification.
• BLS(AHA)
• Recent 2 years of experience
• U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
• Ability to successfully complete VA credentialing and onboarding requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous Pharmacy Technician experience in hospital, retail, mail-order, specialty, or VA healthcare settings.
• Experience working in a call center or remote pharmacy support environment.
• Familiarity with VA CPRS/VistA electronic health record systems.
• Experience processing controlled substance prescriptions.

• Knowledge of prescription processing and pharmacy workflow.
• Basic mathematical skills for pharmacy calculations.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume call center environment.

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining productivity standards.
