Pediatric Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse – Day Shift

• Schedule: 5x8 Days (06:30 - 15:00) | Monday - Friday | ~12-Week Contract (07/19/2026 - 10/10/2026)
• On-Call Requirements [MANDATORY]: Integrated weeknight and weekend on-call rotation is required based on department surgical volume.
• The Setting: A premier freestanding, 248-bed, Level I Pediatric Trauma Center serving Central Texas. Operates as a cutting-edge pediatric academic surgical environment.
• Shift Times: Firm 06:30 - 15:00 day shift schedules.

Submission & Credentialing Requirements

• Experience Baseline: Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Pediatric Operating Room experience is required.
• Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Texas Board of Nursing (or an active multi-state Compact RN license) must be held and verified prior to submission.
• Required Certifications [IN-HAND]:
  • Active AHA BLS (or ARC equivalent)
  • Active Advanced Life Support credential (ACLS or PALS depending on exact surgical floor requirements, obtained within 180 days of hire/transfer if not already held).

Clinical Scope & Core Duties

Provides comprehensive perioperative care supporting specialized pediatric surgical pipelines:

• Circulating Nurse Duties: Assumes complete advocacy and patient monitoring roles before, during, and after surgical interventions. Manages meticulous electronic documentation inside the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Scrub Nurse Execution: Prepares precision instrumentation, maintains strict sterile technique, and directly assists pediatric surgeons to ensure rapid, safe procedural flows.
• Collaboration: Works alongside a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary pediatric surgical team to ensure safety and optimal outcomes for neonates, infants, children, and adolescent patient populations.
