Description

Travel Stepdown RN – 8 Southeast

Unit: 8 Southeast – Stepdown
Shift: Nights

Join a high-acuity Stepdown unit caring for post-surgical thoracic and medical patients in a fast-paced academic medical center.

Submission Requirements

Candidates may only be submitted to one position across the WVU system at a time
Driver's license address must be more than 50 miles from the facility
Previous permanent employees must be separated for 2 years
Previous travelers who completed a full year must also be away for 2 years
All submissions must include an unexpired driver's license
COVID-19 vaccination required (approved medical or religious exemptions accepted)

Requirements

Active RN License
BLS and ACLS required
Strong Med Surg Stepdown experience
Experience titrating cardiac drips
Ability to interpret telemetry rhythms

Unit Details

32-bed Stepdown Unit
Nurse-to-patient ratios:
- Stepdown: 1:3
- Mixed assignments: 1:4
Three to four CNAs per shift
One Charge Nurse and three House Supervisors available

Patient Population

Post-surgical thoracic patients
Medical Stepdown patients

Clinical Skills

Experience with:

Cardizem
Amiodarone
Dopamine
Nitro
Esmolol
Heparin
Lasix

No vasopressors on this unit.
