Travel Med Surg RN – Community Hospital | Cerner | 1:4–5 Ratios

Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Travel Med Surg Registered Nurse for a community hospital offering a supportive team environment and manageable patient ratios. This assignment is ideal for nurses who are flexible, team-oriented, and comfortable taking on leadership responsibilities when needed.

Assignment Highlights

• 13-week travel contract
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4–5
• Average daily census: 22 patients
• EMR: Cerner
• May be asked to serve as backup Charge Nurse
• 8 hours of non-billable orientation

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide comprehensive patient care
• Educate patients and families
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Support professional nursing standards and unit leadership

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Recent Med Surg experience
• Cerner experience preferred
• Strong teamwork and leadership skills
• Must be flexible with scheduling

Important Information

• Travelers living within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible.
• Personal vehicle is required; public transportation is not available.
• Maximum of 5 days of requested time off must be disclosed at submission. Requests after submission will not be approved.
• No block scheduling or special scheduling accommodations.
• This assignment cannot be worked alongside another travel or permanent position.
