Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (ER)

Location: Monroe, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 10 weeks

Job Overview

• Work in a combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department (General ED)
• Float to Hickman unit as needed within scope
• 12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 7:15), 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
• Patient age groups: Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• STEMI and Stroke Certified Facility
• Cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
• Neurological/psychiatric care including CVA management
• Use of Pyxis medication system and EPIC electronic charting (EPIC experience is mandatory)
• Must adhere to a strongly enforced call-off policy
• Teamwork approach and adherence to behavioral expectations required
• Teaching hospital and Level II trauma center experience preferred

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Michigan
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Certifications required (AHA only; Provider, Instructor, or RQI cards accepted):

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with EPIC electronic charting system
• Prior travel contract experience preferred (implied by original description)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check within 12 months of start, including SS trace, county, nationwide, sex offender, and international searches if applicable
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks updated annually
• Fingerprinting: Michigan LARA fingerprint results required for all psych positions; not required for this ER role
• Education verification of highest level required
• State-specific background checks completed as applicable
• Completion of a time-sensitive agency form (Jot Form) at least 10 days prior to start, including submission of professional headshot and badge photo
• Adherence to dress code

This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurses with prior travel contract experience who hold a current Michigan RN license and meet all certification and compliance requirements.
