OSF Saint Francis Medical Center - Peoria, IL
Key Position Details
- Start Date: August 17, 2026
- End Date: February 15, 2027
- Duration: 182 days (approximately 26 weeks)
- Specialty: Neuro Med-Surg Acute
- Shift: 12-hour Nights, 4x12's
- Number of Positions: 1
- Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
- Priority: Standard
- Orientation: 12 hours (non-billable, guaranteed hours do not apply)
Unit Details
- Beds: 54 beds (2 semi-private)
- Nurse:Patient Ratio:
- Day shift: 1:4-5
- Night shift: 1:5-6
- EMR System: EPIC
- Monitors: Phillips (house-wide telemetry, nurses do not read strips)
Required Qualifications & Experience
- MUST HAVE:
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Previous travel experience (NO first-time travelers)
- Prior dedicated neuro unit experience
- Heparin drip titration experience
- Certifications:
- BLS (AHA)
- NIHSS
- Licenses: Active IL license OR confirmation application process initiated at submission
- BSN: Not required
Clinical Skills Required
- Common Diagnoses: Stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, head injury, neuroscience patients, some medical overflow
- Drip Titration: Yes - Heparin drips titrated based on PTT
- RT Equipment: High flow for stable COVID only (rare)
- Staffing Support:
- Charge nurse 24/7 (no assignment unless short-staffed)
- House supervisor 24/7
- PCTs: Days 1:9-10, Evenings 1:9-10, Nights 1:10-12
