Travel CVICU RN – Fresh Open Heart Recovery | Reston, VA | Nights

Job Description

Join the launch of a new Cardiac Surgery Program at Reston Hospital as a CVICU Registered Nurse. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced cardiovascular ICU nurses with strong fresh open-heart recovery skills to work in a highly specialized environment.

Assignment Highlights

Start Date: July 27
13-week travel contract
Night Shift
36 hours per week
Weekend requirement: 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks

Unit Details

4-bed Cardiovascular ICU
Nurse-to-patient ratio:
- 1:1 Immediate post-cardiac surgery
- 1:2 Post-op Days 1–3
Primary nursing model
EMR: Meditech Expanse
Floating to similar acuity units as needed

Requirements

Minimum 1–2 years of recent experience recovering fresh open-heart patients
Direct primary recovery experience required
Current ACLS certification
Experience with:
- Intra-aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
- Impella
- Hemosphere or Acumen monitoring systems
Strong cardiovascular critical care skills
