Assignment Type: 13-Week Travel Contract, with potential for extension

Job Summary

Hampstead Hospital, a Department of Dartmouth Health (DHMC), is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment. This position is exclusively on the evening shift and requires prior experience working with pediatric and adolescent behavioral health patients. The ideal candidate will be comfortable providing psychiatric nursing care, administering medications, participating in interdisciplinary treatment planning, and performing phlebotomy for pediatric and adolescent patients.

The RN will work collaboratively with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric and adolescent psychiatric patients.
• Assess, monitor, and document patients' physical and mental health status.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and safely.
• Perform phlebotomy and blood draws for pediatric and adolescent patients as required.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and patient care conferences.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records and documentation.
• Observe, assess, and report changes in patients' behavioral or medical conditions.
• Promote a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment for patients and families.
• Follow facility policies, infection prevention standards, and psychiatric safety protocols.
• Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Hampstead Hospital through professional nursing practice.

Required Qualifications

• Active New Hampshire RN License or Compact (NLC) RN License
• Current BLS Certification
• Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) Certification
• Previous Pediatric Psychiatric Nursing Experience
• Experience performing phlebotomy/blood draws, including pediatric and adolescent patients
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
