Travel Labor & Delivery RN – Float to Med-Surg | 12-Hour Shifts

Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in a community hospital providing comprehensive maternal care. This position requires flexibility to assist on the Med-Surg unit when patient census allows.

Assignment Highlights

13-week travel contract
12-hour shifts
Float to Med-Surg as needed
EMR: Athena
Fetal Monitoring System: PeriCalm

Unit Details

3 Labor & Delivery beds
Postpartum care provided in patient rooms with overflow rooms available
Approximately 120–130 births annually
Family practice providers manage obstetric patients

Requirements

Current RN license
Current:
- BLS
- NRP
- Fetal Monitoring Certification
Recent Labor & Delivery experience
Willingness to float to Med-Surg when needed

Responsibilities

Labor and delivery nursing care
Maternal and postpartum assessments
Newborn stabilization and education
Patient and family education
Collaboration with interdisciplinary care team
Support Med-Surg patients when assigned within competency

Additional Information

Shared CNA support between L&D and Med-Surg
On-call pharmacy services
CRNA available when needed
Wear any solid-color scrubs
