Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR)
Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Assignment Duration: August 10, 2026 – November 7, 2026 (12 Weeks)
Specialty: Operating Room (OR)
Shift Options:
- 4 x 10-hour night shifts (8:45 PM – 7:15 AM), or
- 3 x 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
Call Requirement: Weekend and holiday call only
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dynamic perioperative team for a 12-week travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have strong circulating experience across multiple surgical specialties and thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment while delivering safe, high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Function as the circulating nurse while maintaining a sterile and safe operating room environment.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for scheduled procedures.
- Monitor patient safety throughout the surgical process and respond appropriately to intraoperative changes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, safety standards, and hospital policies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room (OR) nursing experience.
- Experience in a variety of surgical specialties, including:
- General Surgery
- Plastic Surgery
- Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT)
- Robotic Surgery
- Additional multi-specialty surgical procedures preferred
- Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing standards and sterile technique.
Required Qualifications
- Active Tennessee RN License or Compact RN License.
- Current BLS certification.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
Assignment Details
- Contract Length: 12 weeks
- Shift Options:
- 4 x 10-hour nights (8:45 PM – 7:15 AM), or
- 3 x 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Call Requirement: Weekend and holiday call only
- Local Radius: Candidates residing within 50 miles may be subject to local assignment guidelines.
