Travel Sterile Processing Technician

Location: Milwaukee, WI
Shift Time: 3:00 PM -11:30 PM 
Schedule: Full-Time | 40 Hours/Week | 8-Hour Shifts
 

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to join its Sterile Processing Department. In this role, you will be responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment while ensuring compliance with infection prevention and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, inspect, assemble, wrap, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
• Operate and monitor sterilizers, washers, and other decontamination equipment.
• Perform biological monitoring and maintain sterilization documentation.
• Follow AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards.
• Identify the correct cleaning and sterilization methods for reusable medical devices.
• Maintain accurate processing records and documentation.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of sterile supplies using aseptic techniques.
• Deliver sterile supplies to hospital departments as needed.
• Assist with Endoscopy reprocessing when required.
• Report equipment malfunctions and safety concerns promptly.
• Support orientation and training of new team members.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of healthcare or Sterile Processing experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret instrument IFUs and sterilization guidelines.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Basic arithmetic skills for instrument counting.
