• Psychiatric Unit 3900

Shift Details

• Rotating Day/Evening/Night shifts
• Weekends, holidays, on-call, callback, and charge duties as required by the unit

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct patient intake assessments by interviewing patients and family members to obtain medical and psychiatric history.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for psychiatric patients.
• Develop nursing diagnoses and collaborate with psychiatrists and the interdisciplinary team to create treatment plans.
• Administer psychotropic medications and other prescribed treatments while monitoring and documenting patient responses.
• Monitor vital signs, assess pain, and provide appropriate interventions.
• Assist patients in understanding their mental health conditions and treatment plans.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and secure environment for patients and staff.
• Document patient assessments, treatments, medications, and progress in the electronic medical record.
• Follow physician orders and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Coordinate additional medical care when necessary.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with facility policies.
• Complete routine administrative tasks, including documentation and communication with the care team.
• Provide professional, compassionate, and patient-centered care.

Requirements

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Minimum 2 years of recent Psychiatric RN experience
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association only)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) Certification

Preferred

• Recent EPIC experience in a psychiatric/behavioral health setting.
