Travel Surgical Technologist (CST)

Location: Louisville, KY
Schedule: 4 x 10-hour Day Shifts (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
Hours: 40 hours/week
 

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join the surgical team in Louisville, KY. In this role, you will assist surgeons and the operating room team by preparing surgical instruments, maintaining a sterile environment, and providing intra-operative support to ensure safe and effective patient care.

The ideal candidate will have recent operating room experience, strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures.
  • Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and anticipating procedural needs.
  • Maintain strict aseptic technique throughout all surgical procedures.
  • Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts according to hospital policy.
  • Inspect, prepare, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Ensure operating rooms are properly prepared before and after procedures.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia staff to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Respond effectively during urgent and emergency surgical situations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to all hospital safety and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Surgical Technologist experience.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Surgical Technology
    • Aseptic Technique
    • Surgical Instrumentation
    • Medical Terminology
    • Metric System
  • Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
