Contract Length: 08/18/2026 – 11/10/2026 (13 weeks)
Pay Package (Travel)
- Weekly Gross: $2,446.00
- Weekly Taxable: $612.00
- Weekly Non-Taxable: $1,834.00
Local Pay Rate
- $56.00/hour (within 75 miles of facility; locals preferred)
Schedule
- Both Day & Night shifts available
- Days: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 3x12-hour shifts
- 36 guaranteed hours/week
- Every other weekend (2 weekends/month)
- No block scheduling
- No call required
Facility Overview
John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center in Chicago, IL. The L&D unit manages 200–300 facility births per month with a high-risk (Level 3) OB patient population including High Risk Antepartum cases.
⚠️ Critical Requirements — Read Before Submitting
- High-risk (Level 3) OB experience required
- Heparin drip experience required — must be called out at time of submission
- Multi-facility L&D or travel experience preferred
- Cerner EMR experience required
Illinois RN License in hand at submission — pending licenses not accepted
Required Skills
- High-risk L&D and antepartum care
- C-section circulation and recovery
- Sterile vaginal exams
- Obstetrical patient triage
- Fetal monitoring including IUPC placement and calibration
- Magnesium Sulfate therapy
- Antihypertensive administration
- Insulin drips
- Heparin drips (required — call out at submission)
- Central line care (CVC/PICC)
- Isolation precautions/PPE
Required Certifications
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- NRP
- AWHONN Intermediate
- NIHSS
Preferred Certifications
- AWHONN Advanced
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience
- High-risk (Level 3) OB experience required
- Multi-facility L&D or travel experience preferred
