Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology (Navigator/Coordinator)
Location: Fairfax, VA 22031
Shift Timing: Days (8-Hour Shifts)-8 am-4:30 pm
Schedule: 40 Hours/Week
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks with possible extension
Position Overview:
The Oncology Nurse Navigator/Coordinator is a Registered Nurse who guides cancer patients through the continuum of care, from diagnosis to treatment, survivorship, or end-of-life care. The RN serves as the primary point of contact, coordinating multidisciplinary care, educating patients and families, facilitating timely access to services, and ensuring high-quality, patient-centered oncology care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients in an acute care environment.
- Safely administer chemotherapy and other oncology-related treatments.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changes in clinical status.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and symptom management.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Accurately document patient care using the EPIC electronic medical record system.
Requirements:
- RN VA State license.
- Minimum 2 years of Oncology RN experience.
- AHA - BLS
