Cardiac & Vascular Sonographer (Echo/Vascular)
Location: Atlantis, Florida (Outpatient Clinic)
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (6-Month Evaluation)
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Pay: $50–$55/hour (Based on experience and credentials)
About the Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced Cardiac & Vascular Sonographer to join a growing outpatient cardiology and vascular practice in Atlantis, FL. This is an exciting contract-to-hire opportunity for a sonographer who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care while working in a collaborative, quality-focused environment.
Unlike many high-volume imaging centers, this team prioritizes quality over quantity, allowing ample time for each patient and providing an environment where technologists can thrive professionally.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate will be dual-certified in Echocardiography and Vascular Ultrasound and capable of independently performing a comprehensive range of diagnostic studies. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced physicians and imaging professionals while expanding your expertise within a highly respected cardiac and vascular program.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive cardiac ultrasound examinations, including:
- Resting Echocardiograms
- Treadmill Stress Echocardiograms
- Pharmacologic Stress Echocardiograms
- Contrast Studies
- Bubble Studies
- Perform a variety of vascular ultrasound examinations, including:
- Carotid Duplex
- Upper & Lower Extremity Arterial Studies
- Venous Duplex Studies
- Abdominal, Renal, Iliocaval, and Mesenteric Duplex Exams
- Plethysmography
- Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) Testing
- Provide accurate preliminary findings and complete clinical documentation.
- Support physicians during vein procedures, including ablations and other vascular interventions as needed.
- Ensure imaging quality meets IAC and ACR accreditation standards.
- Maintain patient safety while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff to deliver outstanding patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and accreditation compliance efforts.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate's Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiac and/or Vascular Ultrasound Program
- Current BLS Certification
- Minimum 2 years of post-graduate experience performing both cardiac and vascular ultrasound studies
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Certifications
Candidates must possess:
- ARDMS: RDCS and RVT
OR - CCI: RCS and RVS
Candidates with one cardiac or vascular credential are encouraged to apply but must obtain the second credential within 12 months of hire.
Preferred
- Previous outpatient or ambulatory imaging experience
- Strong communication and patient education skills
- Experience working in a collaborative physician practice
