Assignment Length: 26 Weeks
Start Date: 08/24/2026 (final start date contingent upon successful background clearance; flexibility required)
Schedule: 40 hours per week
Shift Options: 4x10s or 5x8s
Days: Weekdays
Schedule Note: Candidates may indicate a preferred schedule; however, flexibility is required as final schedules are to be determined.

 

Position Overview

The Licensed Social Worker (LSW) will provide behavioral health services within a secure correctional healthcare environment serving individuals with a wide range of mental health and behavioral health needs. Working as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team, the LSW will assess, support, and treat individuals with acute and chronic mental illness while promoting treatment engagement, stabilization, and successful progression through programming.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide behavioral health assessments, interventions, and treatment planning.
  • Deliver individual counseling and facilitate two clinical groups per week.
  • Complete timely, accurate, and clinically sound documentation.
  • Respond to behavioral health crises and utilize effective de-escalation techniques.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support patient care and treatment goals.
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate relevant clinical information to the treatment team.
  • Maintain compliance with agency policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Active Licensed Social Worker (LSW) license in state of CO
  • BLS
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing major mental illness and acute behavioral health needs.
  • Strong clinical documentation and assessment skills.
  • Demonstrated crisis intervention and de-escalation abilities.
  • Experience facilitating therapeutic groups.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
