Description
Job Description – Registered Nurse (OB/L&D – Travel Contract)
Position: Registered Nurse (OB/Labor & Delivery)
Specialty: Obstetrics (OB RN)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: 3 x 12-hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to obstetric and newborn patients.
- Independently care for patients during antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn phases.
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
- Accurately document patient care using the EPIC electronic medical record system.
- Float to other units within the candidate's competency and skill set as needed.
- Participate in on-call rotations and weekend coverage as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License (NYC License required at the time of submission)
- Minimum 1 year of acute care hospital experience
- Recent experience in:
- Antepartum
- Intrapartum (Labor & Delivery)
- Postpartum
- LDRP
- Newborn Nursery
- Experience using EPIC electronic medical records
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Preferred Certification
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM/ERM)
- Additional certifications in:
- Low-Risk Maternal Care
- High-Risk Maternal Care
Candidates without EFM or maternal care certifications may still be considered based on the depth and relevance of their OB clinical experience.
Schedule & Contract Details
- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (rotating)
- On-Call: Required
- Floating: Required within scope of practice and skill set
