Description
Job Title: Respiratory Therapist (RT) – Travel Contract
Contract: 13 Weeks
Position Summary
Seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care across ICU, ED, Med/Surg, Pediatrics, and Newborn Stabilization. Candidates must be comfortable working independently, managing adult critical care patients, and providing pediatric/newborn care when needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Experience: 1 year
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (must live 50+ miles from the facility)
- Active New York State Respiratory Therapist License (required prior to submission)
Required Certifications
- BLS
- ACLS
- CRT
- NRP
Required Skills
- Adult Critical Care & Emergency Department experience
- Airway management, extubation, tracheostomy care, suctioning, and pulmonary hygiene
- Mechanical ventilation, including HFNC, BiPAP, CPAP, ventilator weaning, and troubleshooting
- Interpretation of ABGs
- Respiratory medication administration (Albuterol, Atrovent, Pulmicort, Spiriva, Xopenex, and others)
Preferred
- Experience with Servo I, LTV, and Hamilton T1 ventilators
- Ability to perform occasional EKGs and care for COVID-19 patients
