Job Highlights

• CVPICU (Cardiac PICU) RN
• 24-bed Pediatric Cardiac ICU
• Patient ratios: 1:1–1:2
• Guaranteed hours
• Rotating day/night shifts based on unit needs
• 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• No RTO during the first 2 weeks of orientation
• Travelers may float to lower-acuity units within scope
• Epic EMR
• Pediatric Teaching Hospital

• Level I Trauma Center

Required License / Certifications

• WA RN license, WA temporary license, or Compact RN license by start date
• BLS
• PALS

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery/CVPICU experience
  • Strong candidates with 1–2 years will be considered
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Children's hospital experience preferred

Preferred Candidate

• 2–5 years of Cardiac ICU experience
• Previous travel experience
• Strong pediatric cardiac critical care background

Patient Population

• Birth through 21 years
• Congenital heart disease
• Heart failure
• Heart transplant
• Single ventricle palliation
• High-acuity cardiac ICU patients

• Hemodynamic monitoring
• Chest tube management
• Central line care
• Blood product administration
• Dysrhythmia recognition and management
• ABG interpretation
• IV vasopressors
• Continuous sedation
• BiPAP/CPAP
• Tracheostomy care
• Pediatric medication dosing
• Wound assessment and care

Preferred Experience

• ECMO
• CRRT
• VADs
• Acute/chronic renal failure
• Starting and maintaining IVs
