Registered Nurse (RN) – Postpartum / Mother-Baby
Richmond, VA | 13-18 Week Travel Contract | Night Shift | 36 Hours Guaranteed
Join a highly respected Mother-Baby team in Richmond, Virginia, providing compassionate, family-centered care to mothers and newborns during the postpartum period. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Postpartum RN looking to work in a supportive hospital environment while making a meaningful impact on patients and their families.

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for postpartum mothers and healthy newborns.
- Perform maternal and newborn assessments and monitor for changes in condition.
- Administer medications and treatments safely according to physician orders.
- Educate patients and families on newborn care, breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, and discharge planning.
- Collaborate with physicians, lactation consultants, case management, and other healthcare professionals.
- Support patient safety initiatives and deliver evidence-based, family-centered care.
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes within EPIC.
- Respond appropriately to obstetric emergencies and changes in maternal or neonatal status.
Requirements
- Active RN license (Virginia or Compact License)
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience
- Previous Postpartum, Mother-Baby, OB, Women's Health, Labor & Delivery, ED, or Critical Care experience preferred
- BLS Certification (or ACLS accepted in place of BLS where applicable)
- NRP preferred (required within 3 months if not already obtained)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with EPIC EMR
- Maternal Newborn Nursing Certification (RNC-MNN)
- Inpatient Obstetric Nursing Certification (RNC-OB)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification
- BSN preferred
