Description
Job Title: Point of Care Lab Technician (Permanent)
Location: San Leandro, CA
Pay Rate: $26.00 - $32.00/hour
Shift: Monday–Friday | 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (Evenings)
Employment Type: Permanent
Responsibilities
- Perform waived laboratory testing, including:
- Chemistry
- Hematology
- Urinalysis
- Molecular Testing
- Coagulation
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection.
- Receive, process, and log patient specimens.
- Enter patient demographics and laboratory orders into the LIS.
- Monitor and document quality control for all testing.
- Verify abnormal results before releasing reports.
- Perform routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and documentation.
- Monitor STAT testing turnaround times.
- Follow all laboratory safety, infection control, and quality standards.
- Operate the mobile laboratory van when required.
Requirements
- Active California LVN, MLT, or CLS License (Required)
- NO Phlebotomists – candidates must be licensed as LVN, MLT, or CLS
- Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Familiarity with laboratory workflow and processes
- Previous laboratory testing experience
- Phlebotomy experience preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption required
Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
- Weekend and on-call requirements will be discussed during the interview.
