Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Stepdown / Cardiac Stepdown

🕒 Shift: Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) (36 or 48 hours/week based on unit needs)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in a high-acuity cardiac stepdown unit. This role is ideal for nurses with strong cardiovascular and medical-surgical experience who excel in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The unit consists of 48 private beds and provides specialized care for patients requiring a higher level of monitoring than a traditional Med/Surg unit but who do not require intensive care. Nurses work alongside an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
 

Minimum Qualifications
Active RN license or Compact RN License compliant with NLC guidelines
Minimum 2 years of recent Stepdown experience (3+ years preferred)
At least one prior travel assignment required
Level I Trauma experience required
Experience in a large acute care hospital required
First-time travelers are not accepted
EPIC experience preferred

Assignment Details
Cardiac Stepdown / Medical-Surgical Overflow Unit
Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
36 or 48-hour workweek based on unit requirements
Team nursing model
Typical patient assignment: 4–5 patients per nurse with team support
Weekend rotation required (every other weekend)
On-call as needed
Block scheduling generally not available

Candidate Requirements
Must reside more than 100 miles from the assignment location
Requested Time Off (RTO) must be submitted with the initial application
Driver's license required at submission
