Position Details

  • Position: Registered Nurse – Cardiac Telemetry
  • Contract Length: 13 Weeks
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week

Schedule

  • Shift: Days
  • Schedule: 5 x 8-hour shifts
  • Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

     

Quick Overview

Seeking an experienced Cardiac Telemetry RN for a weekday assignment caring for patients undergoing a variety of cardiac procedures. First-time travelers are welcome.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Telemetry RN experience
  • Experience caring for patients undergoing:
    • TEE/Cardioversion
    • PCI
    • Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterization
    • Peripheral Vascular Percutaneous Procedures
    • Pacemaker procedures
    • Cardiac Ablation
    • Structural Heart Procedures
    • Loop Recorder Insertions
  • Community hospital experience
  • EPIC charting experience (required)

Requirements

  • Active RN License
  • AHA BLS
  • AHA ACLS
  • Cardiac Telemetry experience
  • EPIC experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Experience with advanced cardiac procedures

Unit Information

  • Patient Population: Adult
  • Average Daily Census: 25 patients
  • Patient Ratio: 1:5
  • Orientation: 16 hours

  • Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Arterial line management
  • Central line/PICC care
  • Peripheral IV insertion and maintenance
  • Heparin and insulin protocols
  • Cardiac and vasoactive drip management (including titration)
  • Post-cardiac catheterization care
  • TR Band management
  • Sheath removal
  • Procedural sedation monitoring
  • Pacemaker care (temporary/permanent)
  • Post-MI and post-TPA care
  • TAVR patient care
  • LVAD/RVAD patient care
  • Blood product administration
  • Oxygen therapy, BiPAP/CPAP
  • Rapid Response/Code Team participation
