Shift Notes

3 - 8.5hr shifts with 1hr lunch

Psych RN – Travel Contract

Department: Psychiatry
Shift: 7:00 AM/PM – 7:30 AM/PM (12-hour shifts)
Schedule: Every other weekend required | Holiday rotation as needed
Float: May float to inpatient psychiatric units

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Registered Nurse to join a fast-paced behavioral health team. This role involves caring for patients with acute psychiatric and behavioral health conditions in a secure treatment environment while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide safe, high-quality patient care.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of Psychiatric RN experience
Previous Med-Surg experience preferred
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Experience with patient de-escalation techniques is preferred
Comfortable working with behavioral health patients

Required Certifications

BLS
ACLS
PALS
CPI (preferred; training available if needed)

Patient Population

Care for adult and pediatric/adolescent behavioral health patients with conditions including:

Schizophrenia
Bipolar disorder
Major depressive disorder
Anxiety and trauma-related disorders
Other behavioral health diagnoses

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive psychiatric nursing care.
Administer oral and IM medications.
Monitor patient safety and respond to behavioral emergencies.
Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
Maintain accurate documentation and follow behavioral health protocols.
