Location: Portland, Maine
Department: ICU
Shift Options:
- Days: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
- Nights: 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week

Position Overview
Seeking an experienced ICU RN for a high-acuity float pool position at Maine Medical Center. This role requires flexibility, strong critical-care skills, and the ability to adapt quickly across multiple specialty intensive care units.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of recent ICU RN experience
- Recent acute-care hospital experience required
- Must be clinically confident managing critically ill and unstable patients
- Must be comfortable floating based on experience, competency, and hospital staffing needs
Floating Requirements
Travelers may float among the following units:
- Medical ICU
- Neuro ICU
- Surgical/Trauma ICU
- Cardiac ICU
- Cardiothoracic ICU
Float assignments will be based on the clinician’s documented experience and competency.
Ideal Candidate
- Strong multi-system ICU background
- Comfortable in a fast-paced tertiary-care environment
- Adaptable across different critical-care specialties
- Strong assessment, prioritization, communication, and teamwork skills
- Willing to work a high percentage of weekend shifts
