Description

Adult Outpatient Clinic

Physician’s office

Examination/Procedures

Applanation Tonometry

Basic Eye Exam

Checking Extra-Ocular Muscles

Checking Vision Near and Distance

Confrontational fields

Corneal Topography

Inform physician of preliminary findings

Measure and record visual acuity and color vision testing

Perform auto-refraction

Perform intraocular pressure measurements

Place dilating drops in eyes as ordered

Visual Fields

Office Duties

Arrange transportation for patients*

Chart Preparation

Clean and sterilize and maintain surgical instruments/ equipment

Filing

Ordering/Dispensing Glasses and Contact Lenses*

Patient teaching regarding ocular medications

Patient teaching: dressings

Pharmacy calls for refills

Stocking/Ordering Supplies

Assisting Physician

Assist Ophthalmologist during examinations and surgeries

Assist with intravitreal injections (IVTA)*

Basic Surgical Procedures*

Chalazation surgery*

Labeling of specimens

Removal of Skin Tags*

Remove non-imbedded foreign particle with cotton swab*
