Job Title: Registered Nurse - Oncology
Location: Bronx, NY, 10467
Shift: Days
Shift Length: 5*8 hours
Guaranteed Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Duration: 13 weeks
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced RN – Ambulatory Radiation Oncology Clinic with 2+ years of acute care hospital experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate, patient-centered care to oncology patients receiving radiation therapy in an outpatient setting. Responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment coordination, symptom management, education, and collaboration with physicians and the multidisciplinary oncology team to ensure safe, high-quality care throughout the treatment process.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Assess, monitor, and provide nursing care for patients receiving outpatient radiation oncology treatments, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Administer medications, manage treatment-related side effects, and educate patients and families on radiation therapy, symptom management, and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, nurses, therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate individualized patient care plans.
- Perform patient triage, review laboratory results, document clinical findings, and communicate changes in patient condition to the healthcare team.
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation, ensure compliance with clinical protocols, and provide emotional support throughout the patient's treatment journey.
Skills:
- Strong clinical knowledge of radiation oncology nursing and outpatient oncology care.
- Experience with patient assessment, symptom management, and treatment coordination.
- Excellent communication, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR), clinical documentation, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong critical thinking, time management, and ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.
