Travel Registered Nurse – Telemetry / Medical-Surgical

Location: Willimantic, Connecticut
 Assignment Length: 12 Weeks

 Shift: Nights – 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (3 x 12-hour shifts)
 Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week 

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Telemetry/Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse for a 12-week travel assignment in Connecticut. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to adult patients requiring telemetry monitoring and medical-surgical nursing services in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to Telemetry and Medical-Surgical patients.
Perform detailed patient assessments and continuously monitor changes in clinical condition.
Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to telemetry findings.
Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
Accurately document patient care using the electronic medical record (Epic).
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection prevention guidelines.
Requirements
Active Connecticut RN license or Compact RN license in good standing.
Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience in both Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Previous Epic EMR experience required.
Strong telemetry interpretation, clinical assessment, and critical thinking skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience caring for stroke patients.
Orthopedic nursing experience.
Assignment Highlights
12-week travel assignment.
Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (3 x 12-hour shifts).
36 guaranteed hours per week.
Every other weekend required.
Rotating holiday coverage based on unit scheduling needs.
