Description
Genie Healthcare is seeking an experienced Travel RN – Wound Care for an exciting assignment in Brooklyn, New York! If you're passionate about delivering exceptional wound, ostomy, and continence care and have hands-on pressure injury experience, we'd love to hear from you!
Job Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive wound, ostomy, and continence assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care.
- Assess, document, and evaluate patient response to wound treatments.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Educate patients, families, and staff on wound prevention and treatment.
- Conduct pressure injury risk assessments and initiate prevention strategies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and nursing quality programs.
- Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with hospital policies.
- Float to other units as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Schedule
- Day Shift
- 5x8-hour schedule
- Occasional weekends and holidays required
- Flexible scheduling to support patient-centered care
Requirements
- Active New York State RN License
- 3–5 years of healthcare experience
- Hands-on wound care and pressure injury experience
- Experience using EPIC electronic medical records
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to float as needed
Required Certification (Must Have)
Candidates must hold one of the following:
- Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) – WOCNCB
- Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) – WOCNCB
- Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) – American Board of Wound Management (ABWM)
- Wound Care Certified (WCC) – National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy (NAWCO)
