 Job Responsibilities:

• The Respiratory Therapist will provide respiratory care to adult and pediatric patients in a high-acuity hospital setting. The therapist will float between the PICU, Emergency Department, Adult Critical Care, and other units as needed based on clinical skills and hospital staffing needs.
• Assess and manage patients requiring respiratory care.
• Initiate and manage mechanical ventilation, BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy.
• Perform ventilator checks and troubleshoot high-pressure alarms.
• Assist with intubation and extubation procedures.
• Provide airway management, including oral and nasal airway placement and suctioning.
• Provide tracheostomy care and management.
• Administer nebulizer treatments and oxygen therapy.
• Collect and perform blood gas procedures.
• Respond to emergency codes and provide respiratory support.
• Assist with in-house patient transport.
• Administer respiratory-related medications as ordered.
• Perform chest physiotherapy.
• Support patients in the PICU, Emergency Department, and Adult Critical Care settings.
• Document patient care and respiratory treatments accurately in EPIC.
• Float between assigned units as required and work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Follow hospital policies, safety procedures, and professional standards while providing high-quality patient care.
