Description

PCU / Cardiac Stepdown RN travel assignment:

  • Weekly Hours: 36 hours/week
  • Shift: 12-hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • On-Call: Only if census is low
  • Unit: 36-bed Cardiac IMCU / PCU
  • Patient Ratios:
    • Cardiac: 1:5–6
    • PCU/Stepdown: 1:3–4
  • Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of PCU/Stepdown experience (job summary also notes 2+ years overall RN experience)
  • Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
  • EMR: Cerner
  • Floating: Yes, as needed
  • Key Skills: Cardiac monitoring, chest tubes, cardiac drips, telemetry, post-open heart, vascular, stroke/TIA, CHF, pacemakers, heart blocks
  • Scrubs: Blue or Navy

Th recruiters are super nice and helpful.

Cons

Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
